Renewable Energy

All our new build properties have installed various renewable energy solutions from Solar and Photovoltaic panels through to Air and Ground Heat Source Pumps and Whole House Ventilation Systems.

These technologies combined with Rainwater Harvesting Systems combine to make your home both highly efficient and more environmentally friendly. As a company we will continue to improve and upgrade these processes as the technology becomes available to us.
Heat Source Pumps

Essentially there are two types of Heat Pumps, Ground Source and Air Source. Air source heat pumps absorb heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. This is effective even at temperatures as low as -15° C.

Ground source heat pumps use pipes which are buried in the garden to extract heat from the ground via an antifreeze based fluid through a network of pipes.

The heat generated by both systems can, via a heat pump, be used to heat radiators, underfloor or warm air heating systems and hot water in your home.
Solar and Photovoltaic Panels

Solar panel electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun's energy using photovoltaic cells.

These cells don't need direct sunlight to work - they can still generate some electricity on a cloudy day. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.

In addition there are benefits to be gained by way of a Feed-in Tariff, currently paid back to you depending on the amount of energy your system generates.

Whole House Ventilation Systems

The principle behind whole house ventilation is to change the air continuously in the house and use the recovered heat to warm the incoming air. Extract points are located in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchen, utility and WC. Supply points are in areas such as bedrooms, living and dining rooms.

The fundamental part of the entire system is a high efficiency counter-flow heat exchanger. This heat exchanger transfers up to 90% of the heat from the extracted “wet” air to the incoming fresh air
.

Rainwater Harvesting Systems

Rainwater harvesting works by collecting water from your gutters through down pipes into the tank. The tank's integrated filter removes unwanted particles allowing the oxygen rich water to be directed on demand via pumped system to deliver the clean rainwater to toilets, washing machine and outside tap.

The system also has an automatic mains water tank top up facility, ensuring a constant water supply even when the tank rainwater levels are low.
